HISTORY OF OUR KENNEL

As far as I can remember we have always had a dog since I was a little child. Maybe, that's where I got my love for animals. When I was around 14-15, the feeling started to grow in me that I want a dog just for ME, who is pedigree, nice, sweet and clever. Whom I can feed, take after and take for a walk. After studying the related literature and visiting some dog shows I decided that it definitely must be a BOBTAIL.

For now, time proved the truth of my choice. After reading the literature, I had to select the right puppy for me. At that time there was a wide rande of choice, however few of the dogs carried real quality. Finally, I contacted a popular Hungarian breeder Hedvig Rábay (Shaggy Bear Kennel). She did not have a litter that time but I succeeded in choosing a first selection puppy from her imported dog. We spent together many unforgettable hours with Shery. Her outstanding intelligence dazzled everyone, from the electricity bill collector to the VET, everybody loved her. We are very proud of her competition career as well. She received many times excellent two, which worth a lot more that a winner's without a competition. It happened that she received second place out of 18 bitches in her category. She proved to be a good choice as a breeding bitch as well: she had 4 litters, all of them with more than 10 puppies. It meant that we took after the little ones together, feeding them every 3 hours. Unfortunately, she left us too early. When she was 6 and a half she got a serious hepatitis, from which she was not strong enough to recover. We'll never forget the memory of all the good things we've got from her.

From the third litter, from Dodo, we kept a puppy just for emotional reasons, as she resemled very much of her mother. Suzi was a real, little mischief-maker, it's still a mistery for us how she was able to "replant" a handful of our cacti. She's become a very playful, human-centred adult with strong nerves. She loves playing with rags and eat, what - I have to admit - can be learnt from the look of hers as well ... Up to now, she had two good litters. Suzi's sist Barbi was brought back to us at 6 months old because she "was lacking good manners". There was no problem with her at all, except from the fact that her former owners did not know how to treat her. She's learnt everything within a few weeks. She's a very determined personality, she's the boss from the two of them. She must always be in centre of everything, she needs to be looked after all the but she repays for the kindness many times. She has a nice display of dog show achievements as well: 4 x HPJ, 7 x CAC, 1 x CACIB, 1 x BOB, Club Star Bitch, Club Star Breeding Bitch, Hungarian Champion, Romanian Champion. We are very proud of her. We kept her only puppy from her third litter. Spotty is our hope.
